The recommended background files from Index of /suzaku/analysis/hxd/hxdnxb/pinnxb_ver1.2_w123. were also used. What is a correct way to produce a spectrum with subtracted background -- how was it done for the green histograms in Fig.1 in SUZAKU-MEMO-2006-42? I would like to fit a 0.2-50 keV (xis +pin) spectrum simultaneously in xspec. We assume the background file name example_bgd.pha and response file, example.rsp. % xspec XSPEC> data example.pha XSPEC> back example_bgd.pha XSPEC> resp example.rsp XSPEC> cpd /xw <----- if you use X-Window-System XSPEC> plot ldata <----- plot in Channel Space XSPEC> setp energy <----- change X-axis to Energy XSPEC> plot ldata <----- plot in Channel Space XSPEC> model pow <----- put your model (pow low) XSPEC> fit XSPEC> plot ldata delchi <------ plot results For further information, please check the manual page.
